Turn Meta Ads and Notion Into a Daily Slack Brief
Mio can bring Meta Ads results and Notion creative-testing notes into Slack. The useful brief connects each result to the right test, without turning an ad-set total into a winning-creative claim.

TL;DR
6 min read- Use Mio to gather connected Meta Ads results and Notion creative notes, then post a daily read-only brief in the team's Slack channel.
- Match the reporting level to the question: ad-set results describe an ad set, not every creative inside it.
- Keep the reporting dates, selected conversion event, attribution window and unmatched records visible. A cheap reported lead is not proof of a qualified customer.
- Start with one checked report before making it recurring. Keep campaign changes and spending decisions outside the reporting job.
To get a daily paid ads brief in Slack, ask Mio to read the connected Meta Ads account and your Notion creative-testing database, then summarize the results in a specified channel. Give it the reporting dates, metrics and concept-to-ad mapping. The goal is a shared view of what ran and what happened, not an automatic verdict on which creative won.
The media buyer sees an ad-set name. The creative lead remembers a hook, an audience and a test hypothesis. A useful report connects those two views. Without that connection, a daily Slack message is just another dashboard screenshot in words.
What Mio can bring together
We verified a recurring workflow in which Mio read creative-testing records from Notion, fetched Meta Ads performance for explicit date ranges and posted a report in Slack. This establishes the cross-tool reporting workflow. It does not establish that the report's interpretation caused better ad performance or that every creative-to-result match was correct.
The setup below is a way to make that workflow easier to check. It is a recommended report design, not a claim that these mapping rules are automatically enforced by Mio. Connect the intended accounts, choose the Notion database and confirm that the receiving Slack channel is appropriate for those results. If a source cannot be read, the report should say what is missing.
Daily Slack reporting is not unique to Mio. For example, Runneth describes daily paid-social recaps with metrics, alerts and a shared dashboard. A specialist tool may suit a team whose main need is creative-performance reporting. Mio is useful here when you want the brief to include the team's existing Notion test notes and live in the same Slack conversation as the follow-up.
Build the match before writing the conclusion
A concept name is a helpful label, but a weak join between systems. Names get shortened, copied and reused. Record the Meta object ID and its level next to the Notion concept, with dates for when that relationship applies. If several concepts ran inside one ad set, an ad-set total belongs to that group until you have more detailed evidence.
Meta's Ads Insights documentation distinguishes account, campaign, ad-set and ad reporting. It also exposes parameters for reporting dates and attribution windows. Select those deliberately: changing the level or window changes what the numbers can answer.
| Keep in the mapping | Why it belongs in the brief |
|---|---|
| Concept record and test hypothesis | The Notion page explaining what the team intended to test, not just a memorable label |
| Meta account, object ID and level | Which account and campaign, ad set or ad produced the reported result |
| Active dates for the relationship | Whether that concept was associated with the object during the period being reported |
| Other concepts in the same object | Whether the result can be discussed separately or only as a group |
| Match status | Confirmed, ambiguous or unmatched; never silently assign the nearest name |
You can keep these fields in a simple table. If concepts and live tests are separate Notion databases, Notion relations can connect the records. The database feature provides the relationship; someone still needs to verify that the linked records describe the same test. Do not hide unassigned spend to make the table look complete.
One ad-set total cannot pick a winning hook
Consider this fictional example, not a customer result. For the same complete reporting day, currency, selected lead event and attribution setting, ad set Alpha spent €90 and reported 9 leads. Ad set Beta spent €60 and reported 3 leads. Alpha contains two ads: a speed-focused concept and a cost-focused concept. Beta contains a third concept.
| Reporting row | Spend | Reported leads | Cost per reported lead |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alpha: two concepts together | €90 | 9 | €10 |
| Beta: one concept | €60 | 3 | €20 |
| Combined, without duplicate rows | €150 | 12 | €12.50 |
The combined cost per reported lead is €150 divided by 12, or €12.50. Averaging the two row costs would give €15, which is not the combined cost. Count each reporting row once: linking Alpha to two Notion concepts must not turn its €90 of spend into €180.
The safe conclusion is that Alpha reported a lower cost per selected lead event than Beta during this window. It is not that the speed-focused hook beat the cost-focused hook. The ad-set row cannot separate those two ads. Even an ad-level breakdown would show attributed results, not by itself prove that the hook caused the difference.
The next useful question is therefore specific: can we inspect ad-level results and confirm which version each ad used? Until then, leave the two concepts grouped. Low cost per lead also says nothing by itself about lead quality, activation or retention. Do not turn this brief into a recommendation to scale spend without those checks.
Ask for a brief the team can inspect
Start with one report before requesting a schedule. An illustrative request is: @Mio prepare a read-only paid ads brief for yesterday in the Meta account's time zone. Use the specified account and our Notion creative-testing database. Show spend and the selected lead event with its attribution window. Match results using the confirmed object IDs and levels. Keep ambiguous and unmatched rows separate. Post in this channel; do not change campaigns, budgets or creative.
Replace the account, database, channel and event with actual choices before running it. If a metric definition or permission is missing, resolve that gap instead of asking Mio to guess. Do not substitute all clicks for leads, or a different conversion event for the one your team agreed to track.
Ask for a small report with four parts:
- Scope: account, currency, complete reporting dates, account time zone, chosen event and attribution window. Name a multi-day range precisely rather than calling it lifetime.
- Results: spend and selected outcomes at the stated reporting level, with totals calculated from the underlying values.
- Test context: matched Notion concepts, their hypotheses and the evidence level available. Show grouped concepts together and leave uncertain matches unresolved.
- Questions for the team: missing mappings, data checks and decisions needing a person. Include source references that the receiving team can open.
For the fictional example, the useful Slack summary is: 'Two ad sets spent €150 and reported 12 leads in the stated window, a combined €12.50 per reported lead. Alpha's two concepts remain grouped. We need the ad-level breakdown and version mapping before comparing their hooks. No campaign changes were made.' That is an example of the requested output, not a copied Mio transcript.
Make it recurring only after the first report checks out
Open the source reports and check a few rows, the total and one concept mapping. Confirm the Slack message actually arrived in the intended channel. If it is right, ask Mio to repeat the same read-only job at the chosen time. Check the next scheduled delivery too: agreeing on a schedule is not evidence that the recurring report ran.
Use complete days for the default comparison. If today's partial numbers are useful, label them separately instead of comparing them with a full prior day. Keep source retrieval problems visible; an unavailable account is not a zero-spend day. If the two tools disagree about names or dates, fix the match before interpreting the change.
Keep the scope small. Reading performance and posting a summary does not authorize changing an ad, pausing a campaign, raising a budget or editing the Notion test history. Review the actual connected access and job behavior rather than treating the wording of a prompt as a technical permission boundary.
Use the daily brief to improve the next conversation
The daily report is for the team running the work. Turn the relevant findings into a separate client-facing report when the audience and reporting period call for it. At the end of the test, use a campaign retrospective to decide what the evidence supports keeping or changing.
When a decision becomes a creative revision, carry it into the agency feedback workflow with the exact concept and version. Those are three different jobs: observe the test, decide what it means, then revise the work.
For agencies using Mio, start with one account, one concept database and one internal channel. Ask Mio in Slack for the first checked report. A useful AI employee does not need to declare a winner every morning. It needs to give the team a reliable basis for the next decision.
